Digital Airbrush
Unique technology
Digital airbrushing is the technology of the direct printing on any vertical surface, in particular on car bodies, walls, furniture and home appliances, etc.
The basis of the technology– is the special digital ArtROBO airbrushing printer.
As a printer ArtROBO is controlled by a personal computer.
The data for printing is submitted by any TIF-file.
Similar to an airbrush, inks are emitted by a current of compressed air.
Compressed air to ArtROBO is submitted by a compressor.

Other important component of the technology - the unique software.
ArtROBO’s software provides not only the high quality and photorealistic printing of images with the resolution up to 63,5ppi, but also allows ArtROBO to operate in a 3D-printing mode, considering curvature of a surface.
The tracing function (while working with curved surfaces) is realized through the surface scanning mode, which precedes the printing mode.
Each point on a surface is described by three coordinates - X, Y and Z.
Coordinates X and Y define a point position on a plane, and coordinate Z describes the distance of a point from an X-axis of Pen Unit (set of nozzles) movement.
Upon scanning is over the surface data (its curvature) is saved to a dedicated file.
Then the curvature file is uploaded during the printing process, and the printing is performed from a constant distance to a surface (10mm).
The standard moving distance of Pen Unit on a Z-axis is 200mm (optional up to 450mm).

And the last component of the technology – is special superficial fixing inks (drying time in 2-3 sec).
ArtROBO’s inks allow to print images on absolutely any surface, irrespectively of their chemical compound: glass, concrete, stone, metal, plastic, wood etc.
Stability of ink to UV - not less than 3 years without additional protection.
Additionally the image can be covered by any finishing material, including an automotive lacquer.
At the same time, the unique distinction of inks is the possibility of their fast and full removal by a special liquid.
ArtROBO operates in CMYK+White colour-environment, therefore it can reproduce more than 16,5 million colours and shades.
White-inks are used only at work with non-white colour surfaces.
In this case White-inks are put as the first layer, but in a common printing process with other CMYK colours.
The standard ArtROBO Pen Unit consists of 5 nozzles - one per each colour (optional – 10 and 20 nozzles).
Digital airbrushing – is the unique technology simultaneously comprising the signs of both digital (printer) printing and traditional (manual) airbrushing.
At the same time, ArtROBO surpasses both technologies in technical features.
ArtROBO possesses the speed and the economy of a digital printer, but surpasses any printer in ability to work with vertical surfaces and in a 3D-mode.
ArtROBO comprises the feature of traditional (manual) airbrush to work with curved surfaces, but surpasses it with the ability to reproduce photorealistic images (raster images), reproduce a colour-test and repeat it in mass circulation.
Low cost, high efficiency, simplicity of operation and high reliability of the equipment – all these make the business with ArtROBO highly profitable.
